The Kaapi is a coffee beverage. Its preparation involves combining frothy boiled milk with the coffee decoction. While making filter coffee, you will find the use of a special kind of apparatus known as a coffee filter. To make a decoction, you have to pour the finely ground coffee powder into the filter and add hot water. You can also prepare Kaapi easily at home if you have a South Indian Coffee Filter. There is a way of serving the Kaapi. Once the coffee is ready, you pour it into a small steel tumbler and place the tumbler on a pan-shaped vessel known as Davara.  To consume the Kaapi, first, you are supposed to mix it by pouring it back and forth from the tumbler to Davara. This process dissolves the sugar and creates a creamy foam on the top.
