Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour – Plain Flour
  • ¼ tsp Carom Seed – Ajwain
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Clarified Butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil For frying

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, take flour and add carom seeds, cumin seeds, chili powder, and salt. Mix everything nicely.
  • Now add the clarified butter to it and combine it well with the flour.  Add water to the mixture and knead it to form a stiff dough.
  • Once the dough is ready, divide it into five sections and roll them into balls.
  • Place a dough ball on the rolling board and roll them into circles of 4 inches (10.2 cm) in diameter.
  • Now, with the help of a fork, poke on the surface of the Mathri evenly.
  • Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan. Add the Mathri into the oil and deep fry for 10 minutes on medium flame. Let it become golden.
  • Take out the Mathri on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil. Repeat the whole process with all the balls. You can fry multiple Mathris at a time.
