Ingredients
- 2 pcs Prawn
- 4 pcs Quail Egg
- 2 slices Lotus Root
- 2 slices Squash – Pumpkin
- 2 slices Zucchini – Courgette
- 2 cups Panko Breadcrumb
- 200 mL (6.76 floz) Vegetable Oil For deep frying
Batter
- 4 tbsp All Purpose Flour – Plain Flour
- 50 mL (1.69 floz) Water Cold
- 1 tbsp Japanese Mayonnaise Kewpie Brand
Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Tonkatsu Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp White Sugar – Regular Sugar – Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Water
Instructions
Preparation
- Prepare and measure all ingredients accurately ahead of time.
- Make sure to cut ingredients in bite-size.
- Put all sliced ingredients into the bamboo stick. Set it aside.
Dipping Sauce
- Combine all dipping sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat.
- Constantly stir the sauce until the ingredients are dissolved.
- Turn off the heat right before the sauce boils.
Batter
- In a mixing bowl, combine the water, mayonnaise, flour, and egg to create the batter.
- Dip each skewered ingredient in the batter then coat it with the breadcrumbs.
Frying
- Over medium fire, heat the oil for deep frying.
- Deep fry each skewer until golden brown. Make sure that all ingredients are submerged in the oil.
- Serve the deep-fried skewered with its dipping sauce.
NOTES
- Cut the shrimp’s tail to avoid spattering oil as you eat the prawn.
- Eat fried dishes in moderation, especially for people with heart issues.
