Things to know about Palacinka Recipe

Pancakes are a favorite dish for so many people all over the world. Almost every country has its recipe for pancakes. Palacinke is a version that dates from Ancient Greece and is spread all over Europe. This is a crepe-like pastry that is fried with or without oil (depending on the pan you have). They are thinned out in a circle and are filled with sweet or salty spreads. In Serbia, the most popular spread is jam and Nutella, but the traditional spread was walnuts and sugar. The main difference between Crepes and Palacinka is that the batter can be used immediately and the Crepe ones have to rest.

Ingredients
 

  • 200 grams (7.05 oz) Flour
  • 2 pcs Egg
  • 100 ml (3.38 floz) Oil
  • 300 ml (10.14 floz) Milk
  • 1 tsp White Sugar – Regular Sugar – Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add in eggs and ⅔ of the milk. Mix well.
  • Add more milk until you get the right consistency. It should be runny and smooth (no clumps of flour).
  • Once the batter is smooth, add oil and mix well.
  • Over medium heat, brush pan with oil.
  • Pour a ladle of batter and cook for about 2 minutes on each side.

NOTES

Instead of milk, you can use water or a mixture of milk and sparkling water.
SERVE WITH:

Serve with nuts and sugar, Nutella, jam, cream cheese, or hummus.
